Jim Rowe, a former senior marketing executive, agency owner / HR director with more than 50 years of experience, addresses poor workforce skills through a simple premise ...Problem Solving requires the 3 C's:

  • Critical Thinking, Communication and Collaboration.

Therefore, he created the W.O.W. executive workshop with 4 key steps:

1.  Employees are sent a copy of his two simple, engaging Training Books -approximately three hours of advance reading before the workshop.

2. Jim PRESENTS to the team (~ 1 hour via Zoom) an overview of the SKILLS GAP including the:

  • ISSUES - IMPACT - CAUSE - SOLUTION so they understand why they are involved in the W.O.W.

3. Jim facilitates the W.O.W. PROJECT - a generic PROBLEM the teams need to solve during the session to gain practical experience with the process:

4.  Attendees (individually or teams) collaborate with people and/or AI to:

  • SOLVE THE PROBLEM using given real life scenarios and parameters (time, cost etc)

  • Follow key problem solving steps using The A-D-A-P-T-E-R Method

  • Use STRATEGIC WRITING to create a synopsis via the 1-Page 10-Step approach.

  • Present the plan via the 1-Page 10-Step approach either verbally or (given time) converting it to 10-slides

A project to reinforce the lessons from ‘Get Your Ducks In A Rowe’ training books 1 & 2 to teach solving both a:

  • Strategic Problem

  • Tactical Problem

by practicing it via real-world situations.

PROFESSOR TESTIMONIAL

"Not boring textbooks...more like A SHORT TRAINING MANUAL in an engaging STORY. A quick and easy read. Simple, structured steps provide a repeatable, “FILL-IN-THE-BLANKS” format to think and communicate.  Lot's of practical “nuggets” on how to do things. I go back and read them again for a fresher. The students LOVED them!"

Dr. Warren Simpson (Angelo State TX)

WHY IT WORKS

1.   The simple, structured approach of STRATEGIC WRITING and The A-D-A-P-T-E-R Method build foundational problem-solving skills via succinct Communication and a step-by-step approach to Critical Thinking through Execution.

2.   The 1/2 day Workforce Optimization Workshop project turns learning into real-world application through a simple, univerally understood PRACTICAL PROBLEM-SOLVING PROJECT.

3.   P-A-I-R (Propose - Assess - Integrate - Responsibility) shows participants how to leverage AI where it adds value, while retaining human responsibility.

“The result is a structured, practical approach to developing essential workforce-readiness skills.”

The Process Works - Professor Testimonials

“The results for the first pass were very positive. (After reading the books), we had both the freshman class and the senior class use a different project assignment with the ‘tool’ (The A-D-A-PT-E-R MethodTM ). Both classes had self admitted improvement. The products were so much better than they had been during the past five years. All of us were excited to see that this product, utilized in the way it was, created such a positive outcome. Because the students saw it!

You did it, Jim. We just need to take our expertise and apply it and create the right assignment that makes more of an experiential process out of it. Just the extent to which you’ll go to help reach these kids. It’s just phenomenal! So, thank you.”

Dr. Duane Crider

"I am pleased to highly recommend Jim Rowe and his books, Get Your Ducks in a Rowe. They are much more than business or motivational books. Jim has a wonderful ability to take lessons learned throughout his career and turn them into practical advice that people can actually use.  His ability to translate his experiences into straightforward, memorable lessons made a real impact on the class.

Get Your Ducks in a Rowe is exactly the kind of practical, real-world resource that can make a difference in today's workforce! I would strongly recommend Jim to anyone looking for someone who can inspire and educate people about workforce readiness, leadership, and personal development.  He connected with the students immediately and gave them lessons they could apply not only in their future careers, but in their lives. Jim has a message worth sharing, I believe his message has tremendous value for students and professionals alike, and I would welcome the opportunity to have him speak to my NYU students again. Professor John Moser

“Students lack the skills to be able to think critically. I like your books. They get right to what students need to improve. You explain it in a way that is easy for all different levels to get. Your books would be perfect for a freshman seminar class! The way that your books explain it is you take them step-by-step and it’s absolute genius. I felt like before they heard you and after they heard you (presenting to the class) was a total difference in their writing on the sponsorship letter which came after the fact. You have lots of golden nuggets in each chapter. They can read them quickly, they gain something from it, …and this is very practical. I felt like the books were a tremendous help and they did a really good job getting to the heart of the issue of what students need.” Dr. Scott Bradshaw.

"I really enjoyed the message of Book-1. I felt it would be really good for our Freshman to have a basis of how to write and how to think. Then with Book-2, I wanted to take notes and think about how I could work this in with my presentations, not just for my students, but for me as a professional! This is 'practical', 'simple for me to understand', and 'I can use it right now!' Dr. Veronia Snow

"The benefits are Incredible! I thought the adapter method did a great job of making it hands on because the students will tell you they learn hands-on. I thought it was great at any level. An undergrad said "it built my confidence! After reading the books I realized...I could do this because it was right there in front of me ...I just followed the step-by-step process.“ Dr. Warren Simpson
